Here is everything you need to know to find Switzerland’s most magical castle - Jungfrau Region.
Switzerland has many beautiful castles, the most popular one being Chateau De Chillion in Montreux. We stumbled upon the most breathtaking castle whilst traveling through the Interlaken area – “Seeburg”, which means “lake-castle”.
This is an absolute must-see in Switzerland! It may not be the biggest but the scenery really makes it one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen.
It sits beautifully in the middle of Lake Brienz, which is roughly a 15-20 minute bus ride from the city of Interlaken.
We’d suggest adding this to an afternoon after a big day of hiking. It’s the perfect little town to have a drink after a long day and take in the beautiful blue water, and snow capped mountains.

After you’ve made your way to Iseltwald, walk straight down to the waterfront.
Next, make your way through the small streets of Iseltwald (right of the bus stop). You’ll soon stumble upon the turquoise water of Lake Brienz with Seeburg in the distance.
Wander down to the waterfront to view the crystal clear water with the unbelievable mountain backdrop.
SEEBURG CASTLE
After admiring this beautiful slice of Switzerland you can either catch the bus back to your accommodation, or you can also use the Swiss Travel Pass on the ferry. The ferry will take you from Iseltwald all the way back into the city of Interlaken.
This part of our Swiss adventure originally wasn’t planned, but we’re SO glad we made the stop into the beautiful town of Iseltwald.
